In 1940 Mr. Sivano bought the rooms of the old pub in "Piazza Della Signoria" square. He tranformed them in a comfortable restaurant moving his activity from the old "Silvano's Restarant" in "Via dei Cerchi" street (that doesn't exist now), in the present "Ristorante Orcagna" situated in "Piazza della Signoria" square, just in the shadow of "Palazzo Vecchio" and "Loggie dell'Orcagna" (from which takes his name). This fantastic square is one of the best the world.
Mr. Sivano and her wife Wilma runned it not without sacrifices as it was the period of the second world war (1939-1944).
Finally the war finished leaving us her wounds but sensing a better future. All the activities took again their rythm as the Restaurant. The years goes on and the Restaurant becomes the compulsing destination of the tourists visiting our beautiful Florence.
Near the Fifties, between its tables, two important movies are filmed: "Luci sulla Piazza" and "Accade a Settembre".
So the years pass by working, every year with a particular event, the landing on the moon, the 68', and two years before the italian victory at World Soccer Championship Mr. Silvano retired form business. The activity is taken by his son Sandro who had participed busily in the the Restaurant from the far 1963. Then the tradition of the family continues thanks to Mr. Sandro and his family continuing working and improving the quality of the restaurant for their customers.
